If you feel nervous about going to the dentist, you are not alone. Most people experience dental anxiety at some point in their lives. This prevents them from feeling comfortable going to the dentist to receive the care they need. We’re pleased to offer comfortable, safe, and effective sedation dentistry in Hi-Tech Family Dentistry. We’re trained and licensed to provide the entire spectrum of sedation services based on your individual needs and preferences.
Oral sedatives are medications taken by mouth which can be prescribed by your dentist to help you get the dental treatment you need. This medication is taken orally in advance of a dental appointment. It leaves you awake for the procedure, but produces a calming effect to significantly relax you during your treatment. Oral sedation requires 8 hours nil by mouth.
Many insurance plans do provide some financial coverage. Our office will help you apply for the maximum amount of coverage allowed by your plan and apply it towards your treatment. We also offer affordable financing options for qualifying patients.
When sedated you cannot feel anything and for most people being sedated means placing a mask over your face. Ultimately, sedation is a completely painless procedure used to mask any afflictions.
With sedation, there are different levels. This all depends on the amount of sedation that is given to you by the dentist. Nonetheless, the whole point of sedation is not to feel any pain so you do not have to worry about the procedure itself.
There are various levels of sedation. Depending on how much sedation your doctor gives to you this will allocate how much time it takes to recover. With that said, it can take as little as 30 minutes to recover, or potentially a couple of hours at most.
In many cases, doctors will tell clients who receive sedation to get someone to drive them home. This is because even though you are awake and maybe feeling fine, your bodily functions need more time to recover. In this case, you’re better off being safe than sorry!
We’re welcoming new patients. All of us and “Floss” can’t wait to meet you.
